We completed this project for a residential customer in need of a reliable electric vehicle (EV) charging solution. Our customer owns a Tesla and was using a standard wall outlet to charge their vehicle. In short, the standard outlet was taking too long to fully charge their car battery. It was causing a lot of problems and was a major inconvenience for our customer.
Our customer wanted a 50amp circuit available in the garage for fast EV charging. And that is exactly what we did!
First, we ran a 50amp rated wire from the basement to the garage to feed the new EV charger. Next, we installed the EV charging outlet in the garage in a convenient location for our customer. Lastly, we installed a dedicated breaker in the electrical panel for the EV charger. This completed the job! It was all done same day.
